Mr. Grinch

I went to a Christmas party last week for the volleyball girls. It was fun to hang out with them and exchange presents. My head coach has a ton of awesome decorations but her grinch is the best. I love How The Grinch Stole Christmas. It is awesome because it is probably 4 1/2 feet tall. Lifesize Grinch :-)I hope y'all are having a fabulous Wednesday.

World News

I was reading the post secret app this morning and this post cracked me up .

It is so true. The North Korean leader scared me the most. He had nothing to lose by blowing up the United States or our allies. People who have nothing to lose are dangerous. It will be really interesting to see where North Korea goes from here. The new leader is very young and educated. Will North Korea start opening up to the modern world or close itself off even more?

I know this post is different from my usual posts. I just wanted to comment on some current affairs. :-)

Brittany and I. I am actually in her wedding this spring.

 One of my best girlfriends needed a date to friends Christmas so I was all in. It is actually a group of people that I know so I knew I would have fun. We went to this amazing steak house. I pigged out and enjoyed every last piece of steak. I knew all these people when I was 16-19, so it was a definate change to see them all again. I have changed so much and so have they. I wish I had a big group picture but it hasn't been posted yet. Brittany, the girl in the last picture is a gril I have known since I was four. We kind of lost touch during college but she just recently asked me to be in her wedding.

My Friday Night

I was a total bum on Friday. I didn't get home from work until 7. I was too tired to do a lot of anything. So my Dad and I watched TV and ordered pizza. We watched one of my favorite movies. Home Alone. I remember every Christmas Eve watching it with all my cousins in front of my grandparents TV. I know, real Christmas spirit right there. It was still as funny as I remember it. Re-living childhood memories is the best.

Today

I am super tired and ready for it to be Friday at 6 when I am off work. :-) My brother is coming into town this weekend and I am super excited. I haven't seen him in 3 weeks.

Addiction

I am officially addicted to Vietnamnesse food. It's a problem. One day a week I get an hour lunch. A bunch of coworkers and I go to pho 95. I simply cannot get enough. I hope you are having a fabulous week. It's ALMOST over.

Wedding Weekend

One of my old college friends got married this weekend. They have been dating for almost 4 yrs now and I was there when it began. So, it was really cool to see it all begin and begin again in a marriage. It was also awesome to hang out with my sorority sisters.

Post Secret

I am and have been for a while, addicted to PostSecret. Then they got an app and I was done for. Has anyone ever heard of this before? If you haven't, it is a place were people share their secrets. It used to all go to one man and he would update the website every Sunday. Like clockwork, every Sunday, I would log on and check PostSecret. Then they release their app and I log on at least once or twice a day. Some secrets are sad, some are nasty, and some make you happy to be alive. Bellow are some examples. Everyone should check it out.

I'm A Pusher

One of my favorite students told another teacher today that I was a pusher.

Student- "Miss, please don't tell her I am not working hard in here. She will be so mad at me."
Teacher-"I thought you liked Ms. W.?"
Student- "I do, but she wants me to do my best everyday. It is hard."
Teacher-"That means she is a good teacher and she cares about you."
Student- "I know, she tells me all the time she cares."

AWWWWWWWWWWWWW

I really do push my students hard. They are expected to do their best at all times. This student in particular is very smart but needs pushing to do his work. I keep tabs on him and call him on his bs, which I think is why he likes me. No one else in his life expects anything of him, except for me. I intend to keep pushing him to greatness.

It was a good day to be a teacher!!!

The Manfriend

I went to Clay's after work and this is what I was happy to see.

After we ate dinner, Clay preceded to help me grade papers. Probably saving me about an hour of work. Now we are all cuddled up on the couch. How lucky am I that I found a man who helps me with my school work? Pretty dang lucky!!!!

Christmas Time

Tonight, my dad, Clay, and I put up the Christmas tree. I was exhausted after soccer practice but my December is packed. I knew if I didn't get it done tonight I wouldn't do it. Then once Christmas rolled around I would be sad about our lack of a tree.  Our tree is nothing special. Let's face it, I live with a bachelor (my dad). He has had the same decorations for years but for me it is enough.

P.S. It is finally cold here. We turned on the fire!

Break

What a break it has been!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had my trip with Clay. I am not going to lie, it was the best. I really needed a good break from everyone and everything.

After mud run, we literally swam in mud.

Then I came home had Thanksgiving with my family. I love them more and more as I get older. It isn't that I didn't love them when I was younger, it is just that I appreciate them now.

Then back to being with Clay. We got into a little fight but it was quickly fixed. Then I met his entire family. For a guy that used to keep me at an arms length it is nice to be included in his family. I am actually in a real relationship now. Overall, I am a happily taken girl!

I hope you all had a restful break. I sure did. I missed my students too.

Road Trippin'

I am about to head over to the manfriend's house to get all ready for our road trip that starts tomorrow. I could not be more excited. We will be heading to Austin tomorrow. I have never been out in Austin before and it is one of our friends birthday's so we have a party to go to. I am happy about it because we are kind of bums and this is forcing us to get out and be young. YAY for 6th street. I will be off radar till Tuesday that's when we get back from camping!

Things I am Loving

I am really not sure who all reads my blog and where you are from but if you are anywhere around Texas I am sorry. It was in the high 80's today. Its November and it was in the 80's. I hate being cold but really Texas, not even a cool breeze. I am actually kind of ready for it to be cold. So come on Texas get with the winter trend.

My Upcoming Adventure

I am super excited that I only have 4 days of work left and then I have a WEEK off. Being a teacher sometimes has it perks; okay, I lie it has a lot of perks. I need a break though....in a bad way. My students need a break. Soccer starts that Monday so I officially will have no time, yet again. I am excited about soccer. My life seems somewhat empty without filling it with a group of girls.

For my week off, Clay and I are going on a trip. Mind you it isn't a crazy big one. We are doing Warrior Dash on Sunday. I am woefully unprepared for this but I will stick it out.

Just a glimise of what I will be doing on Sunday at 1. Ya, I am scared too.

Once we rinse a bit we are going to Palmetto State Park. It is an hour south of Austin and the pictures look beautiful. We will be staying for 3 days and 2 nights. This is the first trip Clay and I have ever taken together so I am super excited. We are more and more a couple everyday and I couldn't be happier. :-)

Tarleton Homecoming

I had a blasty blast. I was good to get away for awhile. A crazy thing happened while I was in Stephenville. For the first time in 5 years it didn't feel like home anymore. It is an odd senstation. I don't have time to post all my pictures but here are a few. It is the end of the six weeks. Pray that I get everything done.

I really like laid back guys. Think long hair, chillin', guitar playing guys and you have my type. This is not exactly a good type. They are usually losers who can't get it together. My man used to be one of those guys. He is still the long hair, chilled out, guitar playing guys but he is getting it together with FIRE SCHOOL. I could not be more proud of him!!!

27. A problem that you have had.

My problem today was my 6th period class. They are horrendous. I all actuality I want to cry because I don't think they are learning anything. It is rough people.

Sleep. I seem to never sleep anymore. It is getting old.

Get ahead in school.

I realized reading through my posts I tend to ramble. Sorry, I will try to do better.

I had my last volleyball game last Tuesday. I feel like a piece of me is missing not seeing my girls for hours at a time. Since I don't have children my team has become my children. Or maybe I am just crazy. Very possible.

Then I played hooky for two days and went to Tarleton Homecoming. I have mentioned how much I love my schools homecoming before but ya know its AWESOME.

I am finishing my list this week......ya know the one I thought would only take me a few days.......WRONG!!!! Oh well, life happens.

"Beauty and the Beast"----If you don't know what its about.....we need to talk. Pronto
"Catch and Release"---Not many people know about this movie but it is great. Jennifer Garner plays a woman who lost her fiance a week before their wedding. She is forced to move in with her fiance's roommates and falls in love with one of his friends. Tragic then happy movie.
Harry Potter-----I love "The Prisoner of Askaban" the most. I can watch them over and over.

25. Someone who fascinates you and why.

Winston Churchill. The man was extraordinary. Google some of his quotes, you will understand. He was an epic failure during WWI and then somehow wound up in charge during WWII. Crazy

My dog and cat. I really want to know if they understand me and how they feel about me. I am gone a lot and I can tell they miss me. It would be interesting to know all sorts of things about them.
