Day #7

I love book series. I really get into stupid, easy to read, and mythological books. I like to escape in my reading. I also like to recomend books to my students at school so sometimes I have to read teenage books. I am totally okay with that because I get to be a kid again.

Four Books

1. The Lost Hero Series

This series is a continuation of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians Series. That series was written for middle age students and just like Harry Potter, aged with the reader. The Lost Hero Series is written for high school students and is much more involved than the pervious 5 books. It is a quick but entertaining read. There are 2 books currently out. The Lost Hero and The Son of Neptune.

2. Girl With The Dragon Tatto

If you read this book you will be hooked. I read the next two in the series in two days, ya that addicting. Warning, they are vulgar but very intriging.

3. Posionwood Bible
I read this book in high school and have loved it ever since. It is about a minster and his family that move to Africa to convert the people. Each chapter is told by a different family memember. It deals with the real life problems of love, God, food, and deciding how to spend one's life.

4. Harry Potter Series

I have loved this series since the first movie came out. There are too many good things to be said about all of the books to list on here.

Day # 6

Five Foods

1. Pasta - Chicken Parmesan

2. Pizza- Cheese, and preferably Domino's

3. Oranges, I am in love.

4. Pho spring rolls

5. Steak and potatoes

Day #1

I am going to go backwards and start with ten secrets.

1. I actually like living with my Dad.

For starters, I am  saving a ton of money. I live upstairs by myself. Some days it actually seems like I live alone.

2. Teachers do not know it all; contrary to popular belief.

My students expect me to have the answers all the time.

3. I sleep better halfway naked.

4. I seem to be outgoing but I am really shy.

5. I talk more when I am nervous around people.

6. I love to travel. Yet, I am a huge homebody.

7. I often don't wash my hair for 3 days. (Just my hair, body gets washed daily.)

8. I am am secretly addicted to trashy romance novels. They are so bad, they are good.

9. I can bullshit my way through almost anything.

10. I am jealous of my brother's ability to not worry about life. I am a huge worrier and it can be about the stupidest thing in the world.

Ski Apache

My brother right before he collapsed on himself.

He scuffed up face after slaming into the snow.

It is hard to take a picture by yourselves.

These are from my family trip to Ruidoso, NM. I am a very blessed girl who gets to travel all the time.

A Little Sad

I have mentioned before that I am addicted to Post Secret. It is the best kept secret on the Internet. I just love the cross section of people's thoughts that are expressed on the lovely website. I was even more thrilled when Post Secret added an app to the secret sharing. Needless to say, I was hooked. I logged in countless hours viewing secrets of people I have never met. I saw their triumphs, disappointments, and inner-most thoughts. Then some jackace (really not a typo, I try not to cuss) just had to go ruin it for everyone. A few people kept posting awful pictures that were beyond awful actually and then Post Secret took a dive. Because of the anonymous feature of Post Secret, there was no way to identify the nasty posters and kick them off. It got so intense, Post Secret App was closed. I know, I still have Sunday Secrets but the app was something very special and a few idiots had to ruin it. Here are some posts from this Sunday about the app closing.

2012 Quote

“This is your life. Do what you love, and do it often. If you don’t like something, change it. If you don’t like your job, quit. If you don’t have enough time, stop watching TV. If you are looking for the love of your life, stop; they will be waiting for you when you start doing things you love. Stop over analyzing, all emotions are beautiful. When you eat, appreciate every last bite. Life is simple. Open your mind, arms, and heart to new things and people, we are united in our differences. Ask the next person you see what their passion is, and share your inspiring dream with them. Travel often; getting lost will help you find yourself. Some opportuniites only come once, seize them. Life is about the people you meet, and the things you create with them so go out and start creating. Life is short. Live your dream, and wear your passion.”

Borrowed from Urban Slant

I am in love with this quote. I think I am going to print it out and put it on my desk at school. It is all so true. If you aren't happy, CHANGE it. Being unhappy takes as much effort as being happy. I will be following this for 2012.

I love finding things that inspire me!

I've been....

sucking it up pretty bad with the bloggin'. I am sorry!!!! I got caught up in family, the boy, and enjoying my break. I go back to school tomorrow and I am actually ready. I miss my kiddos more than I thought I would.

2011 was a year to say the least. I started off lonely as heck and unsure about where my life was going. I was pretty miserable there for a couple of months. That all turned around in July, when I found a job teaching. I love learning, teaching, coaching, and grown-up life. Sure, I miss the lazy days of college from time to time but I know I am really happy where I am. Once, I got my job everything started to fall into place. I have this fabulous man who came back into my life. We didn't work in college but we fit much better now. I am very happy with him and all the adventures we have already shared. I am closer to my friends. I have a great job. Just goes to show how a year can start off slightly crappy and turn out so wonderful. I am excited what this year holds for me!

My New Year's resolution is to see as much of the world as possible. I am already getting off to a great start because I will be heading to Scotland for a month for school. When I return I will be heading to California with my family. Let's see what else I can cram into the year travel wise.

Clay and I on New Years!
I hope all of you had a restful Christmas and New Year. I will be getting y'all caught up on my life all week.
